I am in love.
Actually I take the word "love" very seriously, so I'm not really in love, but slightly twitterpated.
(My blog spell check is telling me it's not a word but I looked it up and it is.)
Anyway.
Remember that list of crushes I wrote. Well today in dance, Jake, brought his guitar. I told him that I was super jealous that he could play. I have attempted to play guitar once but failed because my hands were too small.
He then informed me he started teaching himself this last May.
That is 4 1/2 months ago.
I wouldn't have known if he hadn't told me.
And then during warm-up he started singing and I almost died.
He might not sing like an angel, like Jordan,
but he CAN sing.
Right when he started, I started smiling. I didn't stop until he did.
I think he noticed.
Then after class he told he wanted to learn a country song.
Didn't matter which one as long as it was sung in a low octave.
I told him of my love for country
and he told me to come back with a song for him to learn.
Maybe I'm silly but it made me happy.
On a more serious note, today I searched up family history for the first time. It was so cool. My great great great great grandfather, Lawrence Sticker, was a slave owner in the south and he was super rich. In 1820 he owned 9 slaves. Then 10 years later he didn't own any. Not that I condone slavery but I learned something really cool.
It got me thinking. I wonder how he viewed the civil war. Was he a avid believer of the Confederate states becoming a separate country?
It was a really neat experience.
