Today was stressful.
We got behind in work and everyone was frustrated.
A co-worker of mine wanted to go to a yoga class after work because she felt like she was living to work. She wanted to do something other than work and sleep.
Being behind we didn't finish on time.
While we were cleaning up Mollie declared that she didn't have to go tonight. That it wasn't that important.
And I believe wholeheartedly my response.
"No it is important! You need to have something for yourself, not just work."
Ladies and Gentleman work is important. But so is living. If we forget to live we are no more than robots. If you find yourself becoming mechanical find something little to bring you back to life. It doesn't have to be much. Go running. Read. Go on a walk. Play a board game with a loved one. It is the little things that count.
"While Cinderella and her prince did live happily ever after, the point, gentlemen, is that they lived." -Ever After

New Dish
So on my walk home I started stewing about what I was going to have for dinner.
You know I could go the boring route and have noodles and marinara or a grilled cheese sandwich but I wanted to see what I could throw together.
I hit my little 2x4x3 pantry to see what my options were.
I wanted something sweet and I wanted to use some of my many spices.
Result:
Chicken Fruit Alfredo
1/2 can of chicken chunks
A handful of almonds
Sprinkles of nutmeg throughout
Almond extract
Milk
Flour
1/4 bag of frozen mixed berries
Noodles of your choice
Boil noodles. Set aside. Fry the chicken and almonds. Sprinkle in some nutmeg. Make creme sauce with the milk and flour and pour over the chicken and almonds. Sprinkle in some nutmeg. Add almond extract to bring out taste of almonds In another frying pan put half of your fruit. Cook on high until the only detectable fruit are the strawberries and then add to your sauce. Your sauce is complete. Mix with your noodles and then put the last of your berries on top as a garnish.
Bon appetite!
It actually wasn't as good as I would have hoped it would be but I think it has potential.

59 days.
It's been a while.
News.
I got my mission call.
I have been called to serve in the Puerto Rico San Juan Mission, speaking Spanish. I report to the Dominican Republic Missionary Training Center in 59 days.
My goal for this blog is to post everyday until then. I will blog two posts but you will only be reading one right away the second you will be reading during my mission (thanks to the sweet little schedule gadget).
I will leave you tonight with this...
I am grateful for:
Parents who have loved and supported me in my decisions.
Friends who have brought smiles to my face constantly.
A gospel that has given me standards to live by.
A sister who, no matter how much I didn't want her to go, chose to serve a mission and be an example to me.
A little brother who has made sure that I don't become too much of a tight wad.
My talent to dance when I need therapy.
All my siblings for the love they bring to our family.
A beautiful world that our Heavenly Father has blessed us with.
Our Savior and brother, Jesus Christ, who took upon himself the sins, sadness, sickness, and burdens of the world. He understands the good and the bad and because of His love for us we can return to live with Heavenly Father again someday.
